Director of Brand – Product Design

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States, +1 more country.

📋 Description

• Lead the development of client brand identity from initial concept to final delivery.

• Make and advocate for decisions regarding typography, color, motion, and voice.

• Construct design systems from scratch, encompassing components, documentation, and governance.

• Ensure that design systems are accessible to engineers, comprehensible to AI tools, and sustainable for client teams.

• Manage comprehensive web and product design, covering information architecture and interaction patterns up to final specifications.

• Utilize AI tools throughout the design exploration, iteration, and systemization processes.

• Share insights from AI workflows with team members.

• Present and justify design choices to client stakeholders.

• Communicate visual and systems rationale in a manner that is understandable to non-designers.

• Collaborate with engineers, strategists, and AI experts to facilitate effective handoffs across various client projects.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 6 years of design experience with significant contributions to both brand identity and digital products.

• A portfolio showcasing at least one design system developed from the ground up, initiated from a brand identity.

• Proven expertise in Figma, including variables, auto layout, and component architecture.

• A history of delivering brand identities and web experiences for clients or widely-used products.

• Up-to-date knowledge of AI tools applied to design processes.

• Strong understanding of front-end limitations, including HTML, CSS, design tokens, and component-based development.

• Experience working in a consultancy, agency, or multi-client setting.

• Availability to work Eastern time zone hours with real-time collaboration opportunities.

• Residing in the United States or Canada.
