This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Lead the transition, management, and ongoing enhancement of AI systems developed by external consultants after knowledge transfer.
• Ensure compliance of AI systems and processes with organizational policies, HIPAA regulations, contractual obligations, cybersecurity measures, and other relevant regulations.
• Establish and uphold AI governance practices that encompass development, data management, access controls, auditability, and risk management.
• Assess emerging technologies and industry trends to identify opportunities for innovation and operational enhancements.
• Collaborate with executive leadership and operational stakeholders to identify, evaluate, and prioritize AI initiatives.
• Analyze proposed projects for business value, feasibility, resource needs, and anticipated ROI.
• Maintain and communicate a prioritized portfolio of AI initiatives that align with organizational goals.
• Recommend project selection, scheduling, and resource distribution.
• Work with operational teams to pinpoint workflow challenges and opportunities for automation or augmentation.
• Lead the design and deployment of AI-driven solutions aimed at improving efficiency, scalability, and business outcomes.
• Oversee development processes, project planning, quality assurance, deployment, and system enhancements.
• Integrate AI solutions with current technology platforms and operational processes.
• Evaluate, pilot, and implement generative AI, intelligent assistants, workflow agents, predictive analytics, document intelligence, and other emerging technologies.
• Provide leadership, guidance, and performance oversight for team members and external partners.
• Encourage the adoption of AI-enabled tools through stakeholder engagement, communication, and training.
• Establish success metrics and KPIs for AI initiatives.
• Measure the reduction in administrative time, process efficiency, adoption rates, cost savings or avoidance, capacity created, error reduction, self-service, and other outcomes.
• Develop dashboards and regular executive reports to illustrate the impact of NMA’s AI portfolio.
• Identify optimization opportunities and recommend adjustments or discontinuations of initiatives that do not demonstrate expected value.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, Business, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related discipline.
• Seven or more years of experience in technology delivery, solution architecture, automation, systems implementation, software development, digital transformation, or related fields.
• At least two years of experience leading or supporting production AI, machine learning, AI agents, automated workflows, or Large Language Model (LLM) initiatives.
• Proven success in delivering business outcomes and production software using AI-assisted development tools may be considered in lieu of years of experience.
• Strong business acumen, emotional intelligence, and leadership skills.
• Ability to guide organizations through AI-driven transformations, develop and defend business cases and ROI models, translate operational challenges into scalable technical solutions, and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
• Proven capability to take ownership of existing systems and processes, evaluate and govern AI-generated and delegated work, and deliver outcomes through cross-functional teams, contractors, vendors, offshore resources, and AI-enabled workflows while ensuring quality, accuracy, compliance, and results.
• Experience in the healthcare industry and familiarity with HIPAA compliance is preferred.
• Strong leadership, strategic planning, and organizational capabilities.
• Ability to assess business needs and translate them into scalable technology solutions.
• Knowledge of AI technologies, automation platforms, and emerging industry trends.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and drive projects to successful completion.
• Experience in developing business cases, measuring outcomes, and demonstrating return on investment.
• Capability to build collaborative relationships across all organizational levels.
• Ability to manage stress and maintain productivity under tight deadlines and shifting priorities.
• Ability to remain in a stationary position for extended durations.
• Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds occasionally.
