This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of and coordinate Pivotal Health’s government affairs initiatives, which involves leading conference calls, setting agendas, delegating follow-ups, and monitoring the fulfillment of commitments.

• Directly engage with federal agencies such as HHS, CMS, and DOL, as well as members of Congress and their staff regarding healthcare policies and programs.

• Analyze and synthesize economic, epidemiological, and other healthcare research; pinpoint key findings and gaps; evaluate competing analyses; identify research opportunities; and initiate research endeavors.

• Formulate clear perspectives on policy matters and advocate for them by influencing stakeholders and presenting compelling arguments for change.

• Transition Pivotal Health’s government affairs function from a reactive approach to a proactive, strategic engagement model.

• Lead discussions and collaborate with physicians, attorneys, CEOs, CFOs, and other stakeholders in group settings.

• Collaborate with the General Counsel & Chief Government Affairs Officer, internal team members, and external government affairs and public relations professionals to establish the function’s processes and priorities.


⛳️ Requirements

• 5–7 years of experience in government affairs, public policy, or a similar field.

• Experience in federal-level government affairs or public policy, including direct interaction with federal agencies and healthcare policy.

• Proven experience engaging with members of Congress or their staff.

• A demonstrated history of developing and advocating for a clear perspective.

• Excellent project management and organizational abilities, with a knack for leading meetings across various seniority levels.

• Proficient in reading, evaluating, and comparing the strength of economic and epidemiological research.

• Comfortable navigating ambiguity, creating structure and processes from scratch, and balancing hands-on tactical work with strategic thinking.

• Familiarity with the No Surprises Act or the IDR process is a plus.

• Experience with HHS, CMS, Medicare, or Medicaid is advantageous.

• Previous lobbying experience is a plus.

• Must be authorized to work in the United States without any current or future sponsorship from an employer.
