Director, Network Operations

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee network and system administration alongside project managers and coordinators to guarantee uninterrupted technology services during branch openings, relocations, and closures.

• Supervise network design and configuration, with a focus on security measures.

• Manage the provisioning and disconnection of voice/data circuits, including upgrades and cost management.

• Sustain and improve SASE zero-trust capabilities along with network security.

• Direct the implementation of network micro-segmentation.

• Administer cloud network environments while promoting security best practices.

• Ensure the deployment of LAN/WAN networking equipment.

• Facilitate the deployment of telecommunications hardware, such as IP PBX/hosted VOIP systems.

• Conduct site visits for large-scale deployments and acquisitions as required.

• Oversee network administration for Cisco Webex/UC call centers.

• Monitor and manage network security and user access.

• Provide advanced network support and collaborate with vendors on troubleshooting and projects.

• Manage, configure, monitor, and report on firewall/DMZ activities.

• Complete documentation and tasks pertinent to SSAE, SOX, and other audits.

• Handle network integration and provide IBM i Series support and troubleshooting as necessary.

• Manage and maintain email routing configuration, offering troubleshooting support.

• Oversee the configuration of wireless networks and provide troubleshooting assistance.

• Lead a department or functional area through subordinate managers and high-level individual contributors.

• Execute the operational plan and steer the operations of network functions/programs.

• Report directly to a member of the leadership team.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree or an equivalent computer-related degree from a technical institution, or comparable training.

• A combination of education and experience may be accepted in place of the Bachelor’s degree.

• At least seven years of experience in network administration-related roles.

• Minimum of three years in a supervisory or leadership capacity.

• Expert-level understanding of technical equipment and systems.

• Previous experience with IT disaster recovery and business continuity planning and recovery is essential.

• Proficient in Cisco CCNA, CCNP + Voice, Cisco routing and switching, BGP, VLAN, WAN, and Internet.

• Experience with Cisco Meraki firewalls.

• Familiarity with Cisco Wireless Controllers and Cisco Access Control.

• Experience in setting up and configuring Telco routers.

• Knowledge of Zscaler and SonicWall.

• Experience in network monitoring and backup using PRTG, SolarWinds, and other utilities.

• Proficient in Windows, VMware, Cisco UC, and UCS virtual environments.

• Experience with Windows 11 and Active Directory.

• Capability to learn and adapt to emerging technologies and techniques.

• Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven setting.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business and technology publications, procedures, and journals.

• Capacity to train less experienced team members and enhance their capabilities.

• Highly organized with a strong attention to detail.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Word, Excel, Wiki, collaborative cloud-based programs, and third-party software applications.

• Willingness to travel 10–20% of the time.

• Availability to work nights or weekends or be on-call as a regular part of the job.

• Capability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards.

• Ability to follow process protocols and apply established protocols promptly.
