This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +4 more states.
• Deliver strategic leadership for Kyverna's Field Medical function throughout the Western USA, establishing the vision, priorities, and operational framework for regional scientific engagement and external collaboration.
• Cultivate, lead, and sustain impactful, long-term relationships with healthcare professionals, key opinion leaders, clinical investigators, academic research institutions, professional societies, and patient advocacy organizations.
• Act as a senior scientific representative for Kyverna's cell therapy platform and autoimmune disease portfolio.
• Influence Medical Affairs strategy by integrating field insights, protocol feedback, treatment landscape changes, unmet needs, real-world practice trends, and competitive intelligence.
• Provide senior oversight and collaboration with clinical trial sites to identify and resolve challenges related to identification, screening, enrollment, and retention.
• Assist in commercial site activation, operational readiness, and effective study execution as part of the site activation team.
• Supervise regional scientific activities, including advisory boards, congress planning, symposium support, investigator meetings, and scientific engagement initiatives.
• Represent Kyverna at major international conferences in a senior leadership capacity.
• Aid in the evaluation and development of investigator-initiated trials, scientific collaborations, and research partnerships.
• Build and mentor a high-performing regional MSL organization, focusing on talent acquisition, training, coaching, and performance management.
• Ensure strategic alignment and cross-functional collaboration with Clinical Development, Safety, Regulatory, Commercial, Market Access, and Corporate Affairs.
• Maintain up-to-date expertise in autoimmune diseases, cellular therapy, neuromuscular disorders, and the latest scientific literature.
• Advocate for compliance, ethical scientific exchange, and adherence to relevant laws, regulations, and company policies.
• Travel extensively across the region, up to 50 percent, including occasional weekends and short-notice requests.
• Over 10 years of progressive Medical Affairs experience, with a minimum of 5 years in a senior management or field leadership position within neuromuscular therapeutics.
• An advanced scientific or medical degree (PhD, PharmD, MD, or equivalent) is required.
• Proven success in developing and implementing regional or global Medical Affairs strategies, encompassing scientific engagement, evidence generation, and cross-functional alignment.
• Strong expertise in Myasthenia Gravis or related neuromuscular disorders is highly preferred.
• Knowledge of neuroimmunology disorders is also highly desirable.
• Demonstrated ability to build, lead, mentor, and motivate high-performing MSL or field-medical teams.
• Exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, with the capacity to articulate complex scientific concepts and influence senior stakeholders.
• A highly strategic thinker with strong operational discipline; capable of exercising independent judgment, adaptability, and managing multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
• A collaborative mindset with a proven record of successful partnerships across Clinical Development, Regulatory, Commercial, and Executive Leadership teams.
• Willingness to travel extensively across the region, up to 50 percent, including occasional weekends and short-notice requests.
