This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Malaysia.
β’ Lead the design and implementation of the global trade operations strategy, governance framework, and operational roadmap.
β’ Create enterprise-wide trade compliance policies, procedures, operational standards, and internal controls.
β’ Standardize trade processes across manufacturing sites globally.
β’ Manage the global trade policy framework, including SOPs, work instructions, governance documents, and operational playbooks.
β’ Spearhead business process reengineering and continuous improvement efforts.
β’ Develop governance models for customs, export controls, due diligence, licensing, broker management, and regulatory compliance.
β’ Formulate and execute the Global Trade Compliance technology and automation strategy.
β’ Collaborate with IT to implement and enhance SAP, SAP GTS, and other trade management platforms.
β’ Promote automation in product classifications, restricted party screening, due diligence, export licensing, record retention, broker integration, customs reporting, compliance dashboards, and workflow management.
β’ Assess emerging technologies, AI capabilities, analytics, and digital tools.
β’ Provide executive oversight for Taiwan's import and export operations.
β’ Ensure adherence to U.S. EAR, Taiwan SHTC regulations, customs requirements, sanctions laws, and other relevant international trade regulations.
β’ Supervise customs valuation, HTS classification, country of origin determinations, licensing activities, and broker management.
β’ Offer strategic oversight for customs audits, regulatory inquiries, investigations, disclosures, and government engagements.
β’ Advise departments such as Manufacturing, Engineering, Procurement, Logistics, Finance, Legal, Sales, and IT.
β’ Lead cross-functional initiatives involving ERP implementations, manufacturing expansion, supply chain optimization, and new product introductions.
β’ Oversee customs brokers, freight forwarders, consultants, and other trade service providers.
β’ Establish governance and performance metrics for third-party trade partners.
β’ Bachelor's degree in International Trade, Supply Chain, Business, Customs, Engineering, Law, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
β’ Over 12 years of progressive experience in global trade compliance, customs, import/export operations, or international supply chain.
β’ More than 7 years of leadership experience managing global trade operations or compliance teams.
β’ Proven success in building enterprise-wide governance programs, policies, and operational frameworks.
β’ Experience in leading digital transformation, automation initiatives, and trade technology implementations.
β’ Background in supporting multinational manufacturing organizations in the technology, electronics, semiconductor, AI infrastructure, or server sectors.
β’ In-depth knowledge of U.S. EAR, sanctions regulations, Taiwan customs and SHTC regulations, import/export compliance, customs valuation, HTS classification, and country of origin.
β’ Strong comprehension of global customs operations, trade management systems, and regulatory compliance programs.
β’ Familiarity with SAP, SAP GTS, ERP systems, workflow automation platforms, analytics, and business intelligence tools.
β’ Demonstrated executive leadership and an ability to influence senior management across global organizations.
β’ Excellent strategic planning, organizational development, and change management skills.
β’ Proven ability to develop enterprise policies, governance frameworks, and scalable business processes.
β’ Outstanding communication, executive presentation, stakeholder management, and cross-functional leadership abilities.
β’ Strong analytical, problem-solving, and operational excellence mindset.
β’ Fluency in English is preferred.
