This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Jersey, +2 more states.
• Assist in leading the media strategy and support worldwide media initiatives related to commercial launches, campaigns, thought leadership projects, executive communications, and reactive media inquiries.
• Collaborate with segment teams on messaging, authored articles, pitches, and other media-related content.
• Partner with stakeholders in key markets, including agencies and business partners, to achieve media objectives.
• Provide guidance to business segments and markets.
• Address media inquiries as required.
• Support the strategic planning, tracking, and evaluation of global media activities.
• Maintain a comprehensive understanding of technology, external regulations, and industry best practices through continuous education, conferences, and specialized media.
• Report directly to the VP, Global Communications.
• Over 7 years of experience in media relations or corporate communications, preferably within a global, matrixed organization or agency environment supporting a large enterprise client.
• Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, English, or a related field; equivalent professional experience will be taken into account.
• Established relationships with journalists covering science, healthcare, technology, or business, along with a strong reputation.
• Proven experience advising senior executives on media strategy, positioning, and crisis management.
• Strong news judgment coupled with excellent writing abilities.
• Capability to simplify complex scientific and technical subjects for a general audience.
• Experience in managing external PR agencies and cross-functional stakeholders without formal authority.
• Advanced verbal communication capabilities.
• In-depth knowledge of policies and procedures.
• Expertise in managing project schedules.
• Proficient in corporate relations initiatives.
• Skilled in media measurement and analytics.
• Experienced in presenting solutions.
• Proficient in presentation skills.
• Experienced in review and reporting processes.
• Familiar with content development processes and workflows.
• Experienced in relationship management.
• Skilled in managing resistance.
• Experienced in desktop publishing.
