This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Take charge of the multi-year strategy, architecture, and roadmap for the Cloud Detection Platform.
• Lead and develop a team of managers and senior engineers across various teams.
• Manage the complete talent lifecycle, encompassing hiring, coaching, performance evaluation, and succession planning.
• Ensure accountability for reliability, latency, and cost associated with detection rule execution at fleet scale.
• Define Service Level Objectives (SLOs) and oversee capacity, quotas, and Cost of Goods Sold (COGS).
• Propel the evolution towards a cohesive multi-engine detection architecture that supports scheduled, real-time, and retrospective execution.
• Collaborate with detection engineering, content, product management, and data platform teams to prioritize and fulfill roadmap commitments.
• Establish guardrails for secure detection content deployment, including pre-release validation, staged rollouts, rollback procedures, exclusion management, and comprehensive end-to-end testing.
• Anticipate and navigate escalations and dependencies across teams.
• Represent the platform in architectural and planning discussions within the product organization.
• Lead the annual operating plan and organizational planning for the domain.
• Direct the Cloud Detection Platform that executes detection logic in the cloud at large scale and supports detection engineers across endpoint, cloud, identity, and next-gen SIEM.
• Over 10 years of software engineering experience.
• More than 5 years of experience managing engineering teams.
• At least 2 years of experience managing managers.
• Proven experience overseeing large-scale distributed systems in production, preferably in data-intensive platforms like query/search engines, streaming systems, or rule/event processing pipelines.
• A strong record of being fully accountable for strategic outcomes over one to two-year timeframes.
• Excellent architectural judgment with the ability to participate in design reviews, influence technical direction, and make build/buy/consolidate decisions.
• Experience managing operational excellence for customer-facing services, including SLOs, incident response, capacity planning, and cost management.
• Demonstrated ability to lead through uncertainty, organizational changes, competing priorities, and cross-team dependencies.
• Exceptional communication skills when interacting with executives, peers, and engineers.
• Proven experience leveraging AI technologies to enhance decision-making, streamline workflows and processes, improve efficiency, and drive business outcomes.
• Domain expertise in security, detection engineering, SIEM, or threat intelligence.
• Familiarity with detection-as-code, content management systems, or rule authoring platforms.
• Experience in multi-tenant capacity management, fair-usage models, or optimizing COGS at cloud scale.
• Experience incorporating AI-assisted or autonomous workflows into engineering practices.
