📋 Description

• Enhance Finance of America’s expertise and embrace cutting-edge technologies, particularly generative AI.

• Investigate, assess, and model financial implications for new technology solutions.

• Lead and coordinate resources across Data Science, Machine Learning, and Artificial Intelligence innovation initiatives.

• Support enterprise strategy through long-term planning, budget oversight, vendor selection, and tactical implementations.

• Integrate extensive data operations programs within risk and privacy frameworks.

• Provide strategic direction for emerging technology initiatives across Finance of America Companies.

• Counsel senior management on information systems and the safeguarding of information assets.

• Oversee compliance and risk initiatives related to SOX IT General Controls and FFIEC best practices.

• Establish metrics and reporting systems to evaluate program efficiency, effectiveness, experimental use cases, and pilot programs.

• Design, implement, and monitor an innovation vision and strategy that aligns with organizational priorities and OKRs.

• Identify use cases for process optimization, data mining, marketing efforts, and core business operations.

• Communicate the objectives, vision, strategy, and policies of emerging technology throughout the organization.

• Create and promote working groups to discuss complex topics and garner support for emerging technology pilots.

• Identify, assess, and implement new technologies to enhance corporate capabilities.

• Collaborate with legal and risk teams to formulate technology integration processes and policies.

• Advise senior leadership as a subject matter expert on emerging technologies.

• Utilize data science techniques to extract insights from databases, APIs, web scraping, and natural language processing.

• Develop and launch data-driven products and services.

• Establish ethical, secure, and scalable data science practices and standards.

• Apply machine learning techniques to develop, train, and evaluate predictive models.

• Implement machine learning solutions using frameworks and platforms such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, AWS SageMaker, and Azure Machine Learning.

• Stay informed on machine learning research and trends, identifying opportunities for innovation.

• Perform additional duties as assigned.

• Report directly to the SVP, Chief Data Officer.

• Supervise two Emerging Technologies Specialists and one Senior Data Scientist.


⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 10 years’ experience in risk management, AI, and information technology sectors.

• At least 10 years of progressive management experience, including 4 years in a senior management capacity.

• Preferred 10 years of demonstrated senior corporate leadership experience.

• Desired senior-level experience in adaptive and evolving financial services environments.

• Experience in project management.

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.

• Proven experience in managing substantial budgets and identifying cost efficiencies.

• Comprehensive knowledge of U.S. laws and regulations related to financial services technology and artificial intelligence.

• Familiarity with technologies and their enterprise-scale application to achieve strategic business objectives.

• Understanding of the technologies that support the lending process.

• Capacity to quickly adapt, test new ideas, abandon underperforming concepts, and adjust program models.

• Interest in exploring both commercial and open-source industry solutions.

• Strong decision-making skills with the ability to assess costs and benefits.

• Initiative to work independently, prioritize effectively, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.

• Ability to communicate complex information clearly to executives and cross-functional teams.

• Capable of managing open-ended challenges amidst structural uncertainty.

• Stay current with rapidly evolving technologies and ideas in the lending sector.

• A bachelor’s degree is required.

• A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field is preferred.

• A master’s degree is preferred.
