Director, Data Centre Strategy – Market Development

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States, +7 more locations.

📋 Description

• Lead and manage IPEX's North American data center strategy.

• Identify key applications, customers, regions, technologies, and market entry strategies, and convert them into a comprehensive multi-year growth plan.

• Create a holistic view of opportunities encompassing site infrastructure, building systems, cooling systems, water treatment, and other relevant applications.

• Cultivate relationships with hyperscalers, colocation providers, engineers, developers, contractors, and technology partners.

• Position IPEX at the forefront of the specification and design phases.

• Evaluate portfolio deficiencies and propose new product development, collaborations, or alternative solutions.

• Formulate value propositions and solution positioning for key applications, including cooling and water management systems.

• Keep abreast of emerging data center technologies and design trends, translating their implications for IPEX.

• Lead the cross-functional data center team, collaborating with Sales, Product Management, Innovation, Technical, Codes & Standards, Marketing, and Operations.

• Gather market intelligence on project pipelines, competitors, technologies, and customer needs.

• Set KPIs and relay updates on progress, pipeline, strategic opportunities, risks, and investment needs to senior leadership.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Marketing, or a related field.

• Over 10 years of progressive experience in data centers, mission-critical infrastructure, building systems, cooling/HVAC, industrial systems, market development, product management, or similar areas.

• Prior experience in the data center ecosystem is highly preferred.

• Proven comprehension of how hyperscalers, colocation providers, engineers, and other stakeholders affect design, specification, and purchasing processes.

• Current connections within the data center owner/operator, engineering, design, or technology ecosystem would be a considerable advantage.

• Willingness to travel frequently throughout Canada and the United States.
