This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Take charge of and oversee both strategic and tactical partnerships with EMS providers, manufacturers of electrical components, and authorized distributors.

• Formulate and implement commodity strategies that align with both business objectives and engineering roadmaps.

• Collect and sustain global market intelligence regarding PCBA and electronic components.

• Manage PCBA costs throughout their development and maintenance, which includes cost modeling, should-cost analysis, and forecasting.

• Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, and Supply Chain teams to ensure supplier readiness for new product development.

• Oversee P/AVL management, the identification of alternative components, guidance on component selection, recommendations for second sources, and risk assessments for BOMs.

• Assist in PCBA design reviews and DFM/DFA processes.

• Manage NPI alongside key contract manufacturing partners throughout prototype, EVT, DVT, PVT, and mass production phases.

• Handle BOM risk management, including the creation of dashboards and risk reporting.

• Drive performance scorecards for EMS suppliers, focusing on KPIs, quality, delivery, compliance, and supply assurance.

• Lead supply forecasting efforts and manage scenarios involving allocation and shortages.

• Spearhead cost reduction initiatives, should-cost models, PPV, cost savings, and cost avoidance reporting.

• Facilitate quoting, contracting, commercial workflows, and negotiations with suppliers.

• Oversee PCBA/EMS supplier contracts across the organization.

• Establish and conduct quarterly business reviews with key EMS partners.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Procurement, Electrical Engineering, Business, or a related technical discipline.

• Over 10 years of progressive experience in procurement, commodity management, or strategic sourcing.

• Direct responsibility for PCBA and/or electrical component commodities.

• Experience in managing EMS/contract manufacturing relationships on a global scale.

• Proficient knowledge of active and passive electrical components, semiconductors, connectors, relays, and franchised distribution channels.

• Practical experience in BOM risk management, including EOL/last-time-buy strategies, lifecycle monitoring, and qualification of alternative parts.

• Demonstrated expertise in supplier negotiations, contracts, and commercial workflows, encompassing MSAs, supply agreements, and SOWs.

• Familiarity with quality and manufacturing standards that are pertinent to PCBAs.

• Experience working with supplier networks in Asia, Mexico, and the United States.

• Knowledge of open-book costing and negotiations involving tear-down/cost breakdown.

• Strong analytical abilities and skills in cost/should-cost modeling.

• Exceptional communication, influencing, and cross-functional leadership abilities.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a strong command of the English language.

• Capable of sitting and/or standing for extended periods.

• Proficient in using a keyboard, mouse, and other equipment, with or without accommodation.

• Able to maintain focus during business hours.

• Capable of lifting up to 15 pounds.

• U.S. Person status as defined by ITAR and EAR regulations.

• MBA is preferred.

• Active security clearance is considered a bonus, but not required.
