Digital Teacher, Middle School English

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Make knowledge accessible to middle school students while enhancing their cognitive abilities and appreciation for learning.

• Implement Individual Learning Plans (ILPs) tailored to each student's needs.

• Promote self-esteem, motivation, civic responsibility, and leadership in students.

• Create teaching materials and instructional strategies.

• Plan for the involvement of instructional assistants and parent volunteers in classroom management.

• Enforce school policies effectively.

• Maintain communication with parents regarding students’ academic performance and discipline through various channels such as phone calls, notes, progress reports, and other media.

• Provide instruction across multiple subjects, including reading, writing, spelling, language, vocabulary, math, science, social studies, technology, counseling, study skills, health, problem-solving, foreign languages, ESL, family and consumer sciences, physical education, music, and chorus.

• Identify instructional techniques and strategies; modify curriculum and learning approaches to cater to and assess student needs.

• Adhere to regular and predictable attendance requirements.

• Design activities, resources, lesson plans, and substitute teaching plans that align with educational objectives and school guidelines.

• Develop, analyze, modify, and implement ILPs based on student assessments.

• Select appropriate assessment tools and levels for evaluating student progress.

• Assess and evaluate student performance, behavior, progress, grades, reports, and understanding of learning goals.

• Ensure the confidentiality of protected student and staff information.

• Prioritize student well-being in all decision-making processes.

• Contribute to the professional development of oneself and colleagues, collaborate on curriculum planning, stay updated with educational trends, and comply with state and school regulations.

• Work collaboratively to fulfill the overarching objectives of the school program.

• Maintain a classroom environment that is conducive to learning.

• Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Education or a Post-Bachelor's Education from an accredited institution, or fulfillment of Highly Qualified criteria as per the Arizona Department of Education.

• A valid State Teaching Certificate from any state; Arizona certification preferred.

• Appropriate endorsements may be necessary depending on the instructional area, or passing scores on relevant AEPA or NES proficiency exams.

• Successful completion of a criminal background check.

• Current Active AZ Department of Public Safety (DPS) IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card.

• Professional verification of effective classroom teacher performance and/or student teaching experience.

• An equivalent combination of experience, training, and/or education may also be considered.

• Proficiency in using instructional adaptive technology tools for online courses.

• Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

• Competence with technology, computers, and the Microsoft Office Suite.

• Demonstrated written and verbal communication abilities.

• Strong organizational and planning capabilities.

• Consistent and punctual attendance at work.

• Occasionally able to push or lift items weighing up to 15 lbs.

• Capacity to meet specified physical demands, with reasonable accommodations where applicable.
