Digital Accessibility Project Manager – Higher Education

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee university-wide projects focused on document accessibility remediation.

• Act as the primary contact for various university departments.

• Facilitate the remediation process for PDFs, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and academic documents.

• Manage staffing, production timelines, project intake, priorities, and deadlines.

• Track quality, service level agreements (SLAs), turnaround times, and acceptance criteria.

• Coordinate the efforts of accessibility specialists, quality assurance testers, and subcontractors.

• Deliver weekly updates on project status and quarterly performance evaluations.

• Handle escalations, implement corrective measures, and maintain stakeholder communication.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of relevant project management experience (preferred).

• Proven experience in managing digital accessibility, document remediation, or Section 508 compliance projects.

• Background in supporting universities, colleges, government agencies, or similarly intricate organizations.

• Knowledge of WCAG 2.1 AA, ADA Title II, and Section 508 standards.

• Capability to manage multiple simultaneous projects and meet deadlines.

• Experience in coordinating distributed technical teams and subcontractors.

• Direct experience in higher education accessibility programs is preferred.

• Familiarity with managing documents related to Canvas LMS or academic content is preferred.

• Experience in handling high-volume document remediation services is preferred.

• PMP, DHS Trusted Tester, ADS, or IAAP accessibility certification is preferred.

• Knowledge of FERPA-related confidentiality and security procedures is preferred.

• U.S. citizen or Green Card holder; candidates on other visa types will not be considered.

• Availability for 1099 or corp-to-corp arrangements; this role is not offered as a W2 position.
