DevOps Engineer – Vac DST

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants anywhere in the world.

📋 Description

• Design, configure, and enhance Kubernetes clusters for extensive P2P technology experiments and benchmarks.

• Enhance cluster scalability and resource utilization for increasingly sophisticated deployments and experiments.

• Establish, maintain, and optimize monitoring, logging, and observability infrastructure, including Grafana, Prometheus, and Loki.

• Collaborate with DST researchers and engineers to refine experimentation workflows and enhance reproducibility.

• Automate infrastructure and deployment workflows to boost reliability and minimize overhead.

• Troubleshoot, profile, and optimize distributed workloads for precise and efficient benchmarking.

• Identify, replicate, and resolve complex distributed-systems issues with Logos development teams.

• Devise and implement comprehensive evaluation strategies utilizing large-scale lab deployments and protocol behavior modeling scripts.

• Analyze distributed systems and convert technical data into actionable insights.

⛳️ Requirements

• Strong background in Kubernetes and container orchestration within production or research settings.

• Solid grasp of cloud infrastructure, Linux systems, and networking, particularly for distributed/P2P systems.

• Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools, including Grafana, Prometheus, and VictoriaLogs.

• Experience with infrastructure as code methodologies, such as Terraform, Ansible, or Helm.

• Proficient in at least one scripting/programming language, preferably Python.

• Interest in or experience with distributed systems, P2P networks, or blockchain technologies.

• Experience in networks and systems programming.

• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
