DevOps Engineer – Release/Environment Management

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Romania.

📋 Description

• Provision, configure, and monitor infrastructure resources for systems hosted in Azure

• Oversee DevOps release processes and frameworks to facilitate the promotion of release packages from lower environments to production

• Collaborate with project teams to develop release implementation plans

• Deploy release packages to QA and production environments

• Maintain automated CI/CD pipelines and deployment environments

• Ensure availability of lower environments for developers and QA teams

• Maintain, upgrade, and configure test environments

• Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, resource, and availability issues within test environments

• Enhance and support automation scripts while upgrading automation tools

• Update the CMDB with details regarding applications, services, databases, servers, URLs, and infrastructure

• Research and implement tools to automate tasks, enhancing cost-effectiveness, time efficiency, and effort

• Establish monitoring solutions for Development, QA, and Performance environments, performing necessary maintenance or fixes

• Enforce and maintain security policies concerning environments and applications

• Document procedures related to developed processes and tools

• Identify, establish, and manage proof-of-concept environments while reporting design outcomes

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field

• Over 6 years of experience in software development, as well as DevOps frameworks and methodologies

• At least 4 years of hands-on experience in DevOps release management, Azure environment management, and deployments

• In-depth understanding of hardware, software, network, and data configurations

• Strong familiarity with Microsoft Azure, Azure ARM Templating, Azure DevOps Pipeline implementation of infrastructure as code deliveries, Firewalls, Azure ExpressRoute, IPSec Tunnels, Azure Virtual WAN, WAF, and other Azure network and security components

• Knowledge of virtualization, Linux, Windows, Azure, networking, IP, routing, firewalls, GitLab, GitHub, Docker, Kubernetes, Python, Bash, and PowerShell

• Experience in establishing engineering standards, frameworks, best practices, and tools aligned with ALM and SDLC

• Extensive experience with PowerShell, Batch, and Shell scripting

• Experience supporting both Windows and Linux environments

• Understanding of DNS, load balancing, SSL, TCP/IP, networking, and security

• Experience with cloud delivery methodologies utilizing Microsoft Azure products and technologies

• Familiarity with Microsoft technologies including .NET, .NET Core, HTML5, PowerShell, JavaScript, CSS, Java, C#, XML, REST, SQL/NoSQL, Angular, NodeJS, and Redis

• Proven experience in supporting production releases and environments

• Knowledge of Agile development methodologies
