DevOps Engineer – AWS, GitHub Actions

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.

• Enhance the organization's infrastructure

• Strengthen production support processes

• Lead a transformation in CI/CD practices

• Establish a robust DevOps function within the company

• Collaborate closely with Oscar on a daily basis

• Transition the company’s AWS codebase to GitHub Actions

⛳️ Requirements

• Experience with AWS infrastructure and operations, including EC2, Auto Scaling, Load Balancers, VPC networking fundamentals, and operational troubleshooting

• Proven expertise in GitHub Actions, encompassing workflow design, reusable workflows, secrets/OIDC, and migrating existing pipelines

• Background in CI/CD and deployment automation, covering pipeline design, standardization, and release management practices

• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform or CloudFormation

• Knowledge in monitoring and observability, including dashboard design, alerting strategy, and monitoring cleanup and rationalization

• Experience with Datadog or a comparable monitoring tool

• Proficiency in cost optimization and capacity planning, including AWS spend analysis, resource optimization, and scaling and de-scaling strategies

• Understanding of AWS security practices, including WAF administration and best security practices

• Background in production support, including incident detection and response processes

• Preferred experience in Datadog administration and optimization

• Preferred experience with Slack integrations for alerting

• Familiarity with containers, specifically ECS, EKS, or Docker, is preferred

• Proficiency in Python or Bash scripting is preferred

• Background in financial services or other regulated environments is preferred

• AWS certification such as SysOps Administrator, Solutions Architect, or DevOps Engineer Professional is preferred
