DevOps Engineer, AWS, GitHub Actions

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colombia.

📋 Description

• Revamp the company’s infrastructure

• Enhance production support

• Lead a CI/CD transformation initiative

• Establish a robust DevOps function internally

• Collaborate closely on a daily basis with Oscar

• Transition the company’s AWS codebase to GitHub Actions

• Create and standardize pipelines

• Aid in release management practices

• Design dashboards and develop an alerting strategy

• Streamline and rationalize monitoring efforts

• Evaluate AWS spending and optimize resources

• Formulate scaling and de-scaling strategies

• Manage WAF and implement AWS security best practices

• Enhance incident detection and response protocols

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficient in AWS operations

• Familiarity with AWS infrastructure and operations, including EC2, Auto Scaling, Load Balancers, and VPC networking fundamentals

• Experience in operational troubleshooting

• Required experience with GitHub Actions, including workflow design, reusable workflows, secrets/OIDC, and migrating existing pipelines

• Background in CI/CD and deployment automation, including pipeline design, standardization, and release management practices

• Experience in Infrastructure as Code using Terraform or CloudFormation

• Knowledge of monitoring and observability, including dashboard creation, alerting strategy, and monitoring cleanup and rationalization

• Familiarity with Datadog or a similar monitoring tool

• Experience in cost optimization and capacity planning, including AWS spending analysis, resource optimization, and scaling and de-scaling strategies

• Background in AWS security, including WAF management and adherence to security best practices

• Experience in production support, particularly in incident detection and response protocols

• Datadog administration and optimization (preferred)

• Slack integrations for alerting (preferred)

• Experience with Containers: ECS, EKS, or Docker (preferred)

• Proficiency in scripting with Python or Bash (preferred)

• Background in financial services or regulated environments (preferred)

• AWS certification: SysOps Administrator, Solutions Architect, or DevOps Engineer Professional (preferred)
