DevOps Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico, +4 more countries.

📋 Description

• Develop and maintain build, test, versioning, image publishing, and deployment pipelines.

• Design and create new pipelines, rather than just modifying existing ones.

• Create and maintain deployments, services, configmaps, secrets, ingress, probes, resource limits/requests, autoscaling, and other Kubernetes resources.

• Build Kubernetes deployments from scratch.

• Create and maintain reusable Helm charts or configurations.

• Configure and operate services deployed outside of Kubernetes on virtual machines.

• Build and optimize Docker images.

• Diagnose container issues and maintain consistent packaging practices.

• Troubleshoot DNS, TLS, ingress, load balancers, ports, connectivity, and routing issues.

• Ensure sufficient logging, metrics, health checks, and traceability to operate and diagnose issues in production.

• Investigate deployment failures, infrastructure, and runtime issues to identify root causes or mitigations.

• Eliminate manual and repetitive steps through scripts, pipelines, or Infrastructure as Code.

• Maintain runbooks and operational documentation for deployments and critical procedures.


⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in DevOps, Platform Engineering, SRE, or similar roles, with hands-on experience in production environments.

• Practical experience managing Linux in development or production settings.

• Strong experience with Docker: images, networking, volumes, debugging, and best build practices.

• Real-world experience deploying and operating workloads in Kubernetes.

• Ability to create Kubernetes deployments from scratch, not just manage existing configurations.

• Experience in creating or maintaining CI/CD pipelines, with the ability to design a new pipeline for a service.

• Experience with Helm or an equivalent tool for packaging/configuring Kubernetes.

• Practical knowledge of networking: DNS, TLS, ports, ingress, load balancers, and connectivity troubleshooting.

• Experience with observability and diagnostics through logs, metrics, and health checks.

• Ability to automate tasks using Bash, Python, or another scripting language.

• Experience with Infrastructure as Code, ideally with Terraform.

• Ability to investigate incidents and unknown issues in a structured and independent manner.

• Functional technical English for documentation, tools, and basic communication with vendors or support.
