DevOps Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Nigeria.

📋 Description

• Design, deploy, and oversee serverless applications at the edge utilizing Cloudflare Workers and the Cloudflare Wrangler 4 CLI.

• Maintain and enhance high-performance reverse proxies using Nginx, employing Lua scripting for tailored request routing and dynamic processing.

• Develop precise Kubernetes YAML configurations across essential Kubernetes objects, demonstrating a solid understanding of core object architecture and connectivity.

• Transition production workloads from outdated Kubernetes environments like RKE v1 to contemporary RKE2 configurations.

• Craft optimized, multi-stage Dockerfiles, implement image security best practices, and ensure minimal container footprints.

• Design, construct, and uphold robust automated integration and deployment pipelines utilizing GitLab CI/CD.

• Analyze, debug, and support JavaScript and C# codebases to resolve application-level container and pipeline issues.

• Quickly identify and address failed deployments, malfunctioning Docker builds, pipeline inefficiencies, and application runtime errors.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 3 years of experience in DevOps and General Software Development Engineering (SDE).

• Strong background in Kubernetes and container orchestration.

• Practical experience with CI/CD platforms, including extensive knowledge of constructing, testing, and deploying pipelines through YAML templates.

• Proficient in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) management utilizing Helm.

• Hands-on experience with event-driven architectures and message queuing systems such as Kafka and RabbitMQ.

• Expertise in monitoring and logging solutions including OpenTelemetry, Elasticsearch, and Grafana.

• Strong coding and scripting capabilities in Python, Node.js, and C#.

• Relevant experience with PostgreSQL database management.

• Background in production support, incident management, and participation in on-call rotations.

• Familiarity with Agile development methodologies, such as daily standups, sprint planning, and merge request reviews.

• CKAD certification is preferred.
