DevOps Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Become a part of Tieto Tech Consulting as a Middle DevOps Engineer.

• Collaborate with a global telecommunications client to deliver network infrastructure and digital services around the world.

• Play a role in developing a centralized checksum-based artifact repository service utilizing the JFrog Platform (Artifactory and Xray) with bespoke plugins.

• Oversee platform infrastructure across various production environments.

• Automate deployment processes and system upgrades.

• Monitor services and promptly address incidents.

• Offer operational support to users.

• Engage as an integral member of a DevSecOps Agile team.

• Utilize Java/Spring Boot, TypeScript, Linux, Git, Jenkins, Gradle, Docker, Ansible, and test automation frameworks.

• Adhere to Agile methodologies and DevOps industry best practices and tools.

⛳️ Requirements

• Solid background as a DevOps Engineer.

• Strong expertise in Linux, including shell scripting.

• Proficient with software package managers (rpm, war, docker, helm, npm, etc.).

• Capability to read, comprehend, and troubleshoot Java applications/JVM, including analyzing thread dumps, heap dumps, and stack traces.

• Skilled in automation and scripting languages, such as Python, shell, and Groovy.

• Expertise in servlet containers like Tomcat.

• Familiarity with Web Services (REST/SOAP).

• Good understanding of relational databases (Postgres/SQL).

• Experience in managing and deploying microservices using Docker.

• Familiarity with CI/CD testing frameworks and end-to-end testing.

• Knowledge of front-end development (Apache, Nginx) is a plus.

• Experience with version control tools (Git, Gerrit) is advantageous.

• Ability to monitor and troubleshoot Java applications in live environments using tools like CheckMK, Prometheus/Grafana, VisualVM, JConsole, or Glowroot is beneficial.
