DevOps Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Lead the design, architecture, and management of CI/CD pipelines utilizing GitHub Actions and comparable tools.

• Implement deployment systems driven by testing, featuring automated testing, validation, and monitoring processes.

• Containerize applications and microservices using Docker while optimizing image builds.

• Manage deployment pipelines across distributed environments.

• Oversee the building, packaging, and publishing processes for JavaScript, TypeScript, and C++ packages.

• Handle versioning, semantic tagging, and publication to NPM or internal registries.

• Develop and sustain cross-platform build pipelines using CMake or similar tools.

• Automate the build, tagging, signing, and distribution of mobile, web, and desktop applications.

• Define and manage Infrastructure as Code to provision dependable, scalable, and secure environments.

• Collaborate with development, QA, and operations teams to troubleshoot deployment challenges and enhance release reliability.

• Enhance observability and feedback loops by implementing monitoring and alerting systems.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

• Over 3 years of practical experience in architecting and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions or equivalent tools at scale in a production setting.

• Strong command of test-driven deployment methodologies, including the development and maintenance of automated test suites for integration and end-to-end validation.

• Expertise in containerization technologies such as Docker, covering image creation, registry management, and basic orchestration patterns.

• Experience in managing package lifecycles for JavaScript and TypeScript, including versioning, compilation, semantic tagging, and publishing workflows to NPM.

• Comprehensive understanding of C++ build systems, particularly CMake, with documented experience in optimizing native build and deployment pipelines.

• Advanced skills in Linux system administration and networking, including shell scripting, package management, performance troubleshooting, firewalls, and VPN configuration.

• Exceptional communication, problem-solving, and collaboration abilities, with a proven track record of effective work in globally distributed teams.

• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, Ansible, AWS CDK, or AWS CloudFormation.

• Familiarity with mobile CI/CD automation, including build, tagging, and publication processes for iOS and Android applications.

• Advanced knowledge of release management practices, encompassing automated versioning, signing, and artifact distribution.

• Exposure to observability and monitoring systems, utilizing tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK for tracking deployment health.

• Experience in high-availability, security-sensitive environments, particularly within fintech, blockchain, or distributed systems contexts.

• Experience in deploying and managing blockchain-based applications.

• Familiarity with AI/ML pipelines, including automated model training, evaluation, and deployment using frameworks like PyTorch or TensorFlow.

• Excellent proficiency in English communication.
