DevOps Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Switzerland.

📋 Description

• Take charge of the design, architecture, and administration of CI/CD pipelines utilizing GitHub Actions or similar tools.

• Establish test-driven deployment systems that incorporate automated testing, validation, and monitoring.

• Utilize Docker to containerize applications and microservices while optimizing image builds.

• Supervise the build, packaging, and publishing life cycles for JavaScript, TypeScript, and C++ packages.

• Create and sustain cross-platform build pipelines using CMake or comparable tools for web, desktop, and mobile applications.

• Automate release processes, including tagging, building, signing, and distributing applications.

• Define and oversee Infrastructure as Code to provision and maintain dependable, scalable, and secure infrastructure.

• Work collaboratively with development, QA, and operations teams to resolve deployment challenges and enhance release reliability.

• Enhance observability and feedback loops through monitoring and alerting systems.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

• Over 3 years of practical experience in architecting and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions or similar tools at scale in a production setting.

• Strong expertise in test-driven deployment methodologies, including the development and maintenance of automated test suites for integration and end-to-end validation.

• Proficiency in containerization technologies like Docker, encompassing image creation, registry management, and basic orchestration patterns.

• Experience in managing package lifecycles for JavaScript and TypeScript, covering versioning, compilation, semantic tagging, and publishing workflows to NPM.

• Extensive knowledge of C++ build systems, particularly CMake, with a proven track record in optimizing native build and deployment pipelines.

• Advanced skills in Linux system administration and networking, including shell scripting, package management, performance troubleshooting, firewalls, and VPN configuration.

• Excellent communication skills in English.

• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, Ansible, AWS CDK, or AWS CloudFormation.

• Experience in mobile CI/CD automation for both iOS and Android applications.

• Advanced understanding of release management practices, including automated versioning, signing, and artifact distribution.

• Preferred: Exposure to observability and monitoring systems such as Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK.

• Preferred: Experience in high-availability, security-sensitive environments, particularly in fintech, blockchain, or distributed systems.

• Preferred: Experience in deploying and managing blockchain-based applications.

• Preferred: Exposure to AI/ML pipelines using PyTorch or TensorFlow.
