DevOps Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Spain, +1 more country.

📋 Description

• Design, construct, and oversee cloud-native infrastructure for globally distributed, event-driven systems handling substantial volumes of real-time events.

• Adopt a proactive technical leadership role in crafting and enhancing highly available, fault-tolerant infrastructure.

• Create, implement, and manage scalable and highly available Kubernetes infrastructure.

• Develop and sustain cloud-agnostic Kubernetes environments tailored for real-time, high-throughput event processing.

• Build resilient distributed systems and execute automated scaling strategies.

• Enhance and maintain event streaming infrastructure focusing on performance, reliability, and security.

• Establish GitOps workflows and automate deployments, rollbacks, and infrastructure updates utilizing Terraform/OpenTofu.

• Deploy and oversee PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, and Redis databases within Kubernetes.

• Assist in monitoring, logging, and observability solutions to ensure platform health and performance.

• Support Kubernetes security, networking, traffic management, and production troubleshooting.

• Collaborate with Go-based backend engineers and system architects across various cloud environments to guarantee scalability, security, and operational efficiency.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 3 years of experience in designing and implementing Kubernetes infrastructure for large-scale, event-driven systems.

• Extensive experience with Kubernetes orchestration, covering networking, security, and scaling concepts.

• Proven experience in deploying and managing Kubernetes workloads in AWS.

• Strong Infrastructure as Code (IaC) expertise with Terraform or OpenTofu.

• Practical experience with GitOps tools like Flux or ArgoCD.

• Familiarity with automated CI/CD deployments for Kubernetes.

• Solid Linux administration, networking, and troubleshooting capabilities.

• Proficient in Helm for packaging and deploying Kubernetes applications.

• Experience with event streaming and messaging technologies such as Kafka, NATS, RabbitMQ, or similar systems.

• Understanding of Service Mesh technologies such as Istio, Linkerd, or Consul.

• Ability to work collaboratively with Go-based backend teams to enhance infrastructure automation and performance.

• Experience with observability tools like Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, or ELK.

• Familiarity with advanced Kubernetes security practices including OPA/Gatekeeper, secrets management, and network segmentation.

• Knowledge of networking, traffic management, and security solutions such as NGINX Ingress Controller, Cilium, or Calico.

• Experience with multi-region deployments.
