DevOps Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India, +1 more country.

📋 Description

• Design, construct, and oversee cloud-native infrastructure for distributed, event-driven systems that handle significant volumes of real-time events.

• Create, implement, and manage scalable and highly available Kubernetes infrastructure.

• Develop and sustain cloud-agnostic Kubernetes environments that are optimized for real-time, high-throughput event processing.

• Build resilient distributed systems and implement strategies for automated scaling.

• Enhance and optimize event streaming infrastructure focusing on performance, reliability, and security.

• Execute GitOps workflows and automate the processes of deployments, rollbacks, and infrastructure updates utilizing Terraform/OpenTofu.

• Deploy and administer PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, and Redis databases within Kubernetes.

• Assist in monitoring, logging, and observability solutions to ensure platform health and performance.

• Provide support for Kubernetes security, networking, traffic management, and troubleshooting in production.

• Collaborate with backend engineers using Go and system architects to guarantee scalability, security, and operational efficiency across various cloud environments.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in designing and implementing Kubernetes infrastructure for large-scale, event-driven systems.

• Extensive experience with Kubernetes orchestration, including principles of networking, security, and scaling.

• Proficient in deploying and managing Kubernetes workloads on AWS.

• Strong experience in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform or OpenTofu.

• Practical experience with GitOps tools, such as Flux or ArgoCD.

• Familiarity with automated CI/CD deployment processes for Kubernetes.

• Solid Linux administration, networking, and troubleshooting skills.

• Expertise in Helm for packaging and deploying Kubernetes applications.

• Experience with event streaming and messaging technologies like Kafka, NATS, RabbitMQ, or similar systems.

• Knowledge of Service Mesh technologies such as Istio, Linkerd, or Consul.

• Capacity to collaborate with Go-based backend teams to enhance infrastructure automation and performance.

• Experience with observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, or ELK.

• Familiarity with advanced Kubernetes security practices, including OPA/Gatekeeper, secrets management, or network segmentation.

• Understanding of networking, traffic management, and security solutions like NGINX Ingress Controller, Cilium, or Calico.

• Experience in multi-region deployment.
