DevOps Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Provide and manage Azure resources specific to Clarus workloads, including compute, storage, PaaS services, Key Vault, and managed identities.

• Create, test, review, version, and sustain reusable Terraform Infrastructure as Code (IaC) modules.

• Develop, maintain, and support Azure DevOps YAML CI/CD pipelines, templates, deployment stages, approvals, and quality gates.

• Diagnose issues with failed builds, blocked releases, service connections, agent pools, packages, artifacts, container deployments, and rollbacks.

• Oversee secure deployment integrations, managing credentials, secrets, artifact feeds, registries, and implementing least-privilege access.

• Design and manage landing-zone architectures, subscriptions, resource groups, RBAC, tagging, Azure Policy, and environmental alignment.

• Connect workload resources with shared network services, encompassing private endpoints, VNet integration, DNS, firewall requests, and connectivity validation.

• Ensure environment parity, governance compliance, cost tagging, quota management, secure defaults, runbooks, and release support procedures.

• Facilitate DevSecOps controls, incorporating security checks, SAST, dependency scanning, infrastructure validation, branch policies, pull-request checks, and audit evidence.

• Monitor resource health, cost, and compliance; contribute to dashboards, alerts, incident troubleshooting, and cost optimization strategies.

• Deliver or enhance CI/CD pipelines and IaC updates within the first 90 days.

• Create a support runbook for infrastructure and pipeline requests.


⛳️ Requirements

• 3-5 years of experience in Cloud Engineering or DevOps engineering, with practical experience in Azure infrastructure provisioning and operational support.

• Demonstrated expertise in Terraform, including the ability to author, test, review, and maintain modules with CI validation.

• Solid experience with CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, including YAML pipeline authoring, reusable templates, approvals, quality gates, and release troubleshooting.

• Familiarity with Azure resource hierarchy, Azure RBAC, Azure Policy, and tagging standards.

• Practical experience with Azure PaaS and workload services such as App Service, AKS, Container Apps, Azure Functions, Azure SQL, Cosmos DB, Storage, and Key Vault.

• Experience with private endpoints, VNet integration, DNS, firewall dependencies, and PaaS workload validation.

• Knowledge of service connections, managed identities, service principals, Key Vault integration, branch policies, and least-privilege access.

• Hands-on experience with Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Application Insights, Prometheus, Grafana, Site24x7, or similar enterprise monitoring solutions.

• Experience in configuring alerts, dashboards, and service health monitoring.

• Proven track record in incident response and production support, including triage, root cause analysis, service restoration, and post-incident documentation.

• Ability to troubleshoot intricate infrastructure and deployment challenges across Azure resources, networking, identity services, container platforms, and CI/CD pipelines.

• Strong written communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across application, platform, security, networking, vendor, and operations teams.

• Preferred qualifications: Knowledge of Azure DevOps platform capabilities, GitHub Advanced Security or similar tools, Azure Landing Zone/Calandra-style patterns, Azure certifications, and experience in cloud cost management/FinOps.
