Development Manager – Architecture, DevOps

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland.

📋 Description

• Lead, mentor, and cultivate the Architecture and DevOps teams.

• Foster performance, engagement, and career growth.

• Establish expectations and provide support for seasoned technical professionals.

• Conduct regular one-on-one meetings and ensure the creation of meaningful development plans.

• Oversee hiring, onboarding, and the enhancement of team capabilities.

• Create a culture of autonomy and accountability.

• Manage backlog prioritization and roadmap decisions for both teams.

• Convert strategic objectives into priorities, outcomes, and delivery plans.

• Maintain clarity on commitments, progress, risks, and dependencies.

• Identify and eliminate obstacles while escalating issues as necessary.

• Coordinate cross-squad dependencies and delivery risks.

• Align priorities with Product Managers, Development Managers, and senior Engineering leaders.

• Guide the technical vision, platform design, and architectural governance for OrbusInfinity.

• Provide knowledgeable critique on technical proposals and trade-offs.

• Uphold consistent engineering standards and facilitate technical decision-making.

• Lead DevOps tools and infrastructure that empower teams to build, deploy, and monitor applications.

• Offer leadership for production operations, reliability, and incident management.

• Assess operational risks and prioritize subsequent actions.

• Encourage shared ownership and excellence in continuous delivery across Engineering.

• Represent Architecture and DevOps in engineering discussions.

• Promote knowledge-sharing, collaboration, and enhancements to engineering processes.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience in leading or managing software engineering teams.

• Experience in developing and guiding seasoned technical professionals.

• Background in software development or software architecture.

• Strong judgment in software architecture and technical design.

• Experience in managing priorities, roadmaps, dependencies, and delivery risks.

• Capability to lead teams focused on DevOps, cloud operations, reliability, or production support.

• Excellent communication skills for articulating complex issues to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Experience collaborating with distributed or international teams.

• Proficiency in English, the primary language of the team and organization.

• Previous hands-on experience with Azure DevOps pipelines, Helm, Bicep, or ARM is a plus.

• Familiarity with Kubernetes, CI/CD, and cloud-native development practices is advantageous.

• Experience in a SaaS product company is beneficial.

• Experience with multi-regional or high-availability infrastructure is an added advantage.

• Experience in managing production incidents and operational improvements is a plus.

• Experience in hiring and building specialized technical teams is desirable.

• Familiarity with architecture governance, technical strategy, or platform engineering is beneficial.

• Experience with agile delivery methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban is a plus.
