This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee daily technical operations of an Agile software development team focused on application management, maintenance, enhancements, and modernization.
• Implement Agile methodologies, engineering standards, and software development lifecycle practices.
• Convert business and user requirements into secure, scalable, and maintainable software solutions.
• Offer technical direction, mentoring, conduct code reviews, and provide engineering guidance.
• Design, develop, test, integrate, deploy, troubleshoot, and maintain applications, APIs, services, and software utilities.
• Create and enhance cloud-native applications leveraging modular architectures, containerization, automation, scalability, resiliency, and infrastructure integration.
• Lead DevSecOps initiatives including automated builds, testing, security scanning, deployment, and monitoring within CI/CD pipelines.
• Collaborate effectively with architects, cloud engineers, cybersecurity teams, database administrators, operations staff, product owners, and other stakeholders.
• Analyze and design application data models and databases.
• Set standards for coding, branching, peer reviews, source control, documentation, and configuration management.
• Manage application codebases utilizing mature open-source software engineering practices.
• Address application defects, performance challenges, integration issues, technical debt, and production support matters.
• Assist with releases, production deployments, troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and corrective actions.
• Collaborate with the Product Owner and Scrum Master on backlog refinement, estimation, sprint planning, release planning, and prioritization.
• Assess emerging technologies, frameworks, development practices, and opportunities for automation.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Combinations of education, professional certifications, and relevant experience may be considered as equivalent qualifications.
• A minimum of 10 years in software development or software engineering roles.
• At least 3 years of experience in technical leadership, team lead, or senior development positions.
• Proficient in Agile methodologies such as Scrum, Kanban, or SAFe.
• Experience in developing cloud-native or cloud-enabled solutions.
• Familiarity with working in a DevSecOps environment.
• Background in supporting production applications within operations and maintenance contexts.
• Ability to translate business requirements into technical designs and software solutions.
• Experience in multidisciplinary technical collaboration.
• Proficiency in enterprise programming languages such as Java, C#, Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, or similar technologies.
• Knowledge of RESTful APIs, microservices, application integrations, and distributed software solutions.
• Experience with AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
• Understanding of containers, microservices, serverless technologies, scalability, resiliency, and automated infrastructure.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, code quality analysis, security scanning, dependency management, and automated deployment processes.
• Strong grasp of Git-based development workflows.
• Experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases, data modeling, SQL, and database integration.
• Awareness of software security principles and secure SDLC practices.
• Experience with automated unit, integration, regression, and application testing.
• Ability to conduct root-cause analysis and develop sustainable corrective solutions.
• Excellent technical documentation skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
• Capability to mentor developers and establish engineering standards.
• Must be able to pass a fingerprint-based security background check for Public Trust suitability.

• Relevant technical or Agile certifications are a plus.
