Design Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Assist with a diverse range of system studies focusing on wind, solar, and battery energy storage initiatives.

• Conduct analyses including short circuit, arc flash, load flow, transient overvoltage, transient recovery voltage, insulation coordination, and harmonics.

• Employ software tools such as PSSE, ETAP, EasyPower, PSCAD, and others.

• Provide support for system planning and protection analysis to ensure safe and reliable system designs.

• Offer technical assistance to generator owners involved in wind, solar, and BESS projects.

• Thrive in a dynamic, team-oriented environment with a strong sense of ownership.

• Utilize Python scripting and automation to enhance the efficiency, consistency, and scalability of the study process.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited program or an equivalent qualification is mandatory.

• At least 3 years of relevant work experience, with a minimum of 2 years specifically related to power systems.

• Proficiency in EasyPower, ETAP, PSSE, and/or PSCAD is essential.

• Experience with Python programming is preferred.

• EIT status or an active pursuit of EIT status is required.

• Must possess the authorization to work permanently in the U.S.

• Capable of independently completing assigned tasks and managing personal workload effectively.

• Demonstrated ability to identify and implement process improvements.

• Strong analytical skills and self-motivation are essential.

• Ability to function efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

• Excellent presentation and verbal/written communication abilities.

• Strong interpersonal skills with the capability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
