Deposition Transcript Attorney, CA Licensed

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Thoroughly review deposition transcripts following each deposition.

• Identify critical testimony, inconsistencies, and issues relevant to the case.

• Cross-check transcripts with case files, medical records, and previous discoveries.

• Update case files with new facts, admissions, and developments.

• Conduct discussions with clients post-deposition.

• Clarify the significance of transcripts and address client inquiries.

• Communicate subsequent steps and their effects on case strategy or value.

• Act as a reliable point of contact during the post-deposition phase.

• Manage a consistent, high-volume review queue.

• Track and record billable hours in accordance with firm billing practices.

• Highlight cases that need escalation to the assigned trial attorney or other legal team members.

• Concentrate solely on reviewing completed transcripts; does not take or defend depositions.

⛳️ Requirements

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

• Active member of the California State Bar, in good standing.

• Strong understanding of California workers' compensation law and deposition procedures.

• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.

• Capability to convey complex legal information to clients in straightforward terms.

• Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail.

• Ability to handle a large volume of files effectively.

• Accurate and prompt billing and time-entry practices.

• Previous experience in reviewing depositions or transcripts in a workers' compensation or civil litigation context is preferred but not mandatory.

• Experience with client-facing case discussions is preferred.

• Familiarity with ALG's internal case management and billing systems, or the capacity to learn quickly.
