Deployed Engineer, Professional Services

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +7 more states.

📋 Description

• Provide guidance to enterprise clients on agent architecture design, evaluation strategies, and best practices for production.

• Collaborate with customer engineering teams throughout the entire Agent Development Lifecycle.

• Act as a deployed engineer integrated within customer teams for prolonged engagements.

• Convert ambiguous enterprise workflows into precise software specifications.

• Assist engineering teams in navigating solutions or build solutions directly.

• Design architectures and orchestration patterns for agents.

• Create evaluation systems and tailor conversational user interfaces.

• Deploy operational agent systems.

• Conduct post-training activities, supervised fine-tuning, harness engineering, and trace mining.

• Choose models and formulate evaluation methodologies.

• Deliver dependable production agents alongside customer engineers.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 4 years of software engineering experience with extensive knowledge in Python.

• Proficiency in TypeScript/JavaScript is an advantage.

• At least 2 years of practical experience in building and delivering production agent systems.

• Excellent client-facing communication abilities.

• Capability to explain architectural choices to technical stakeholders, including engineers, architects, and CTOs.

• Strong background with LangChain, LangGraph, Deep Agents, or similar frameworks.

• Experience with multi-agent patterns and state management, covering both short- and long-term memory.

• In-depth understanding of evaluation methodologies for non-deterministic AI systems.

• Comfortable functioning in both advisory and embedded delivery roles.

• Familiarity with dataset curation and post-training methods such as SFT, DPO, and RLHF is a plus.

• Experience with open-weight models and tools like Axolotl, Unsloth, Hugging Face Transformers, or TRL is a bonus.

• Knowledge of trace mining to facilitate continuous improvement cycles is advantageous.
