This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Oversee and assess payment risk regulations, thresholds, and strategies for manual reviews.
• Examine transaction and customer data to pinpoint factors leading to false positives and avoidable manual assessments.
• Create and assess customer and transaction risk categories to enhance decision-making accuracy.
• Recognize and suggest modifications to risk rules and thresholds while adhering to established risk and loss guidelines.
• Design and assess experiments for new risk features, rules, and decision-making strategies.
• Investigate fraud and payment risk trends and convert findings into actionable recommendations.
• Evaluate the effects of risk modifications on review rates, losses, customer inconvenience, payment delays, and operational workload.
• Develop and maintain ongoing monitoring and reporting systems for risk performance and emerging challenges.
• Collaborate with Risk Operations to uncover automation and process improvement opportunities.
• Employ AI and automation tools to expedite analysis, monitoring, and experimentation.
• 2–3 years of applicable experience in risk analytics, fraud strategy, payment risk, decision science, or a similar quantitative position.
• Proficient in SQL, with experience in analyzing extensive transactional datasets.
• Strong Python capabilities for analysis, experimentation, automation, and monitoring.
• Experience with risk rules, machine learning models, segmentation, fraud indicators, or decision-making strategies.
• Solid understanding of false positives, precision/recall, threshold optimization, experimentation, and risk-based decision-making.
• Ability to assess trade-offs between customer inconvenience and financial loss within established risk parameters.
• Excellent analytical judgment and comfort working with incomplete or imperfect data.
• Skill in translating complex analyses into clear, actionable recommendations.
• Comfortable working independently on defined issues and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
