This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Philippines.
• Design, develop, and sustain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines for transferring data from source systems into Snowflake.
• Establish pipeline orchestration that includes scheduling, monitoring, alerting, and recovery mechanisms for failures or data quality issues.
• Create and oversee Snowflake databases, schemas, tables, views, stages, streams, tasks, and stored procedures.
• Enhance query performance and warehouse efficiency through techniques such as clustering, partitioning, and optimal warehouse sizing.
• Enforce and implement role-based access control policies within Snowflake.
• Design and execute dimensional and relational data models across various data zones including raw, conformed, and consumption areas.
• Utilize dbt or similar tools for modular, version-controlled, and tested SQL transformations.
• Conduct data quality checks, anomaly detection, and lineage tracking.
• Implement data classification, masking policies, and retention guidelines for sensitive information to ensure compliance.
• Contribute to practices surrounding data catalog and metadata management.
• Collaborate with business analysts, data scientists, and application developers to provide structured datasets.
• Maintain thorough documentation of pipeline architecture, data models, transformation logic, and platform configurations.
• Execute related ad hoc tasks as required.
• Report to the Vice President of Technology and work alongside technology leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.
• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, or a related discipline.
• A minimum of 2 years of professional experience in a data engineering capacity.
• Direct, hands-on experience in constructing pipelines and data models within Snowflake.
• Excellent proficiency in both written and spoken English.
• Availability to work from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM CST, Monday to Friday.
• Strong expertise in SQL.
• Familiarity with Python or a similar scripting language.
• In-depth technical knowledge of Snowflake architecture, performance tuning, security configurations, and native features such as Snowpark, Cortex, and dynamic tables.
• Understanding of dimensional modeling, star/snowflake schemas, and layered architectural patterns including medallion frameworks.
