This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Install, configure, and maintain Oracle databases (12c, 19c), SQL Server (2012–2017), and MySQL.

• Monitor and optimize database and system performance to ensure peak uptime and efficiency.

• Assist with the installation and integration of database client software.

• Implement and oversee database backup and recovery strategies using RMAN and VEEAM.

• Conduct regular recovery tests to ensure system resilience.

• Apply database patches, upgrades, and security updates in accordance with Federal standards and STIGs.

• Monitor and uphold database security, access, and overall health utilizing Oracle Enterprise Manager and Splunk.

• Identify, document, and address vulnerabilities and risks.

• Collaborate with development and hosting teams to deploy secure and scalable solutions.

• Provide comprehensive technical documentation, SOPs, system diagrams, and configuration records.

• Support the testing of both in-house and COTS applications.

• Adhere to BOR and DOI security policies and procedures.

• Report security incidents and engage in risk assessments and mitigation efforts.

• Contribute to contingency planning, audits, and ongoing process improvements.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must be able to obtain a Public Trust clearance.

• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field; or equivalent work experience with greater depth and scope.

• Practical experience with Oracle (12c/19c), SQL Server (2012–2017), and MySQL.

• Strong knowledge of Linux (6.x+) and Windows Server (2012 R2+).

• Proficient in backup and recovery solutions (RMAN, VEEAM).

• Scripting skills in bash, Perl, PowerShell, TSQL, PLSQL.

• Familiarity with Oracle Enterprise Manager, Splunk, and CheckMK.

• Exceptional communication and documentation abilities.

• Availability for after-hours and on-call support as needed.

• Willingness to travel occasionally for regional support requirements.
