Data Scientist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Develop, validate, and optimize statistical and machine learning models for intricate business challenges.

• Collaborate with engineers to create models suitable for production deployment.

• Design experiments and assess models utilizing rigorous statistical methodologies.

• Construct and sustain dashboards to monitor product effectiveness and disseminate insights across product and customer sectors.

• Work alongside ML engineers on deployment pipelines, APIs, and supporting infrastructure.

• Supervise deployed models for drift, accuracy, and dependability.

• Offer business insights based on model performance in live environments.

• Suggest retraining or refinement strategies in response to variations in performance.

• Convert model outcomes into actionable recommendations for product and business teams.

• Recognize model enhancement opportunities that contribute to up-sell, revenue growth, and cost savings.

• Present results to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Collaborate with Senior Machine Learning Engineers on the transition from research to deployment.

• Guide the team in applied ML and best practices for production readiness.

• Contribute to data science standards and playbooks, emphasizing operational impact.

• Execute other related tasks as directed by the supervisor.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in applying machine learning and statistics to solve business challenges.

• Master’s or PhD in Statistics, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).

• Previous experience in production ML environments and workflows.

• High proficiency in Python (pandas, scikit-learn, PyTorch/TensorFlow).

• Strong foundation in statistical methods, experimental design, data visualization (Looker), and effective storytelling.

• Proficient in SQL (Snowflake).

• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS).

• Comprehensive understanding of APIs, model deployment procedures, and monitoring practices.

• Knowledge of R, Java, and Go is a plus.

• Excellent communication abilities to connect technical and business perspectives.

• Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive ownership approach.

• Comfortable collaborating in cross-functional teams with engineers, product managers, and business leaders.

• Capable of balancing quick iterations with the development of long-term scalable solutions.
