Data Scientist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Latin America.

📋 Description

• Develop, test, and enhance machine learning and statistical models to detect anomalies, predict costs, analyze shipping rates, and categorize invoices.

• Assess model performance and play a role in enhancing predictive accuracy.

• Utilize NLP, embeddings, and LLMs to derive insights from unstructured supply chain documents, logistics contracts, and business data.

• Prepare datasets and create feature engineering workflows.

• Assist in model deployment, monitoring, and automated retraining processes.

• Clean, transform, and analyze transactional datasets.

• Identify trends, evaluate shipping patterns, compare carrier rates, and facilitate cost optimization and contract negotiation decisions.

• Employ SQL, statistical analysis, and data visualization to communicate insights and provide actionable recommendations.

• Implement data quality assessments and validate analytical outcomes.

• Monitor model performance while adhering to security and governance standards in cloud data environments.

• Experiment with AI tools, libraries, and techniques to enhance analytical workflows and automate repetitive tasks.

• Collaborate with AI and software engineers as well as cross-functional teams.

⛳️ Requirements

• 1–3 years of relevant experience in data science, machine learning, applied statistics, or a comparable analytical role.

• Practical experience working with real-world datasets and analytical projects.

• Proficient in Python and familiar with key data science libraries such as pandas, NumPy, and scikit-learn.

• Knowledge of statsmodels or similar statistical tools is advantageous.

• Experience writing SQL queries to extract, transform, and analyze data from relational databases.

• Preference for familiarity with Microsoft SQL Server or PostgreSQL.

• Strong grasp of machine learning concepts, including regression, classification, clustering, and time series forecasting.

• Desirable exposure to NLP, embeddings, and LLMs, especially through hands-on projects or practical applications.

• Familiarity with cloud-based machine learning or AI platforms, preferably Azure Machine Learning or Azure AI Foundry.

• Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or Python visualization libraries is a plus.

• A proactive attitude towards exploring and utilizing AI tools.

• Strong problem-solving abilities and meticulous attention to detail.

• Capability to work with complex datasets, validate assumptions, and derive meaningful insights.

• Comfort in taking initiative, learning independently, and working collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

• Proficient English communication skills, both written and verbal.

• Ability to clearly articulate analytical findings and technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
