Data Science Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maryland.

📋 Description

• Lead projects or workstreams that convert business challenges into feasible data science solutions.

• Suggest various methodologies and supervise the delivery of predictive analytics, models, and algorithms.

• Create project plans that include milestones, deadlines, responsible parties, risks, and contingency strategies.

• Compile and assess large, intricate data sets from clients as well as external sources.

• Oversee data selection criteria and transformations to align with functional business needs.

• Develop analytics tools that convey actionable insights regarding customer acquisition, retention, margin enhancement, operational efficiency, and other business performance indicators.

• Execute data cleaning, maintain data hygiene, ensure quality control, and integrate data from both internal and external client sources.

• Summarize and articulate data and associated issues.

• Perform exploratory data analysis, data mining, and statistical assessments.

• Document significant insights, findings, predictive models, and outcomes from machine learning efforts.

• Train, validate, and cross-validate predictive models and machine learning algorithms.

• Support clients in deploying models and algorithms within their existing architecture.

• Oversee the project work of data analysts.

⛳️ Requirements

• Master’s degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Data Science, Data Analytics, Business Analytics, or a related quantitative discipline.

• Two years of relevant experience in advanced data science.

• Two years of experience in predictive modeling and statistical analysis.

• Two years of proficiency with advanced data science software languages and tools.

• Two years of experience with query languages, semi-structured data, and relational databases, including query writing and optimization.

• Two years of experience with cloud-based computing and storage solutions.

• Capability to work remotely from any location within the U.S.

• Willingness to travel domestically 10% of the time to unforeseen client sites.
