This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Formulate and execute long-term strategic objectives for data architecture vision and standards.
• Oversee data architecture, data modeling, and data movement projects for healthcare data warehouses.
• Design comprehensive visions for converting logical database designs into physical database architectures and data flows.
• Document data architecture and enterprise environments comprehensively.
• Evaluate business requirements and develop conceptual, logical, and physical data models.
• Construct dimensional, normalized, OLAP, and Data Vault models.
• Establish keys, indexes, partitioning, constraints, and rules for referential integrity.
• Generate and maintain ERDs, data flow diagrams, and model documentation.
• Ensure compliance with regulations and manage mapping for data sources, data movement, interfaces, and analytics.
• Maintain data dictionaries, business glossaries, metadata policies, and documentation of data lineage.
• Assist in the classification and protection of sensitive data.
• Offer technical insights and collaborate with architects, engineers, subject matter experts, and stakeholders.
• Resolve issues related to systems integration, compatibility, and integration across multiple platforms.
• Develop components for implementation and testing criteria to ensure data architecture integrity and performance.
• Engage with customers and project teams, escalating issues and risks as necessary.
• Facilitate the migration of legacy Teradata models to Azure Synapse, Databricks Lakehouse, and Snowflake.
• Design the target-state medallion architecture, Delta Lake, and Parquet models.
• Evaluate existing models for modernization, redundancy, and optimization.
• Strong problem-solving, influencing, communication, and presentation skills; self-motivated individual.
• 7+ years of experience in data modeling, data strategy, and development of roadmaps for large and complex healthcare entities and systems.
• Proven experience in implementing large-scale, end-to-end Data Management & Analytics solutions for multiple large clients.
• 5+ years of expertise in regulatory security requirements related to HIPAA, PHI, PII, and other healthcare data security standards.
• 5+ years of experience with Erwin Data Model or similar tools like ER/Studio or SQL Developer Data Modeler.
• 5+ years of knowledge in the healthcare domain, including Medicaid, Medicare, and Commercial healthcare data sets.
• Proficient in normalized OLTP, OLAP, MDM, and dimensional modeling techniques.
• 5+ years of advanced SQL skills, covering complex analytic queries, stored procedures, DDL, DML, DCL, query optimization, ANSI standards, and code reviews.
• 5+ years of experience in Data Quality, Data Profiling, Data Governance, Data Security, Metadata Management, MDM, Data Archiving, and Data Migration strategies.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with tight deadlines, interruptions, and multiple concurrent tasks/projects.
• Capability to work independently with planning, strategy, estimation, and scheduling skills.
• Preferred: Familiarity with Microsoft Azure infrastructure and services.
• Preferred: Experience with Snowflake DBMS, Power BI or Tableau, State Medicaid EDW/MMIS, or federal reporting programs.
• Preferred: Knowledge in Teradata Vantage 20 modernization, Delta Lake/lakehouse architecture, Microsoft Fabric, AI/ML, and GenAI tools.
• Preferred: Experience with ETL tools such as Informatica or Azure Data Factory.
• Preferred: Proficiency in BI/reporting software and Python or R.
