Data Integration Consultant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Configure, maintain, and validate data mappings that link customers’ third-party systems with Higher Logic applications.

• Translate incoming JSON objects and their properties into target objects and properties, including custom objects and fields.

• Implement transformations, formulas, conditional logic, filters, and literal values to fulfill customer use cases.

• Support new customer onboarding, data conversion, ongoing integrations, and evolving customer systems and data models.

• Review documentation from source systems, sample JSON payloads, and available data to clarify technical requirements.

• Execute and validate mappings, compare source and destination results, verify relationships and use-case outcomes, and investigate data issues.

• Diagnose mapping and configuration problems, document findings, and escalate connector or platform defects with reproducible examples.

• Identify requirements for support from third-party systems or use cases and specify enhancements for platform, API, or authentication.

• Maintain specifications for mappings, records of configuration, test evidence, guidance, limitations, and troubleshooting processes.

• Develop reusable mapping templates and validation checks.

• Enable Integration Services, onboarding, and support teams through comprehensive documentation and training.

• Provide technical escalation support and direct customer assistance as needed.

• Collaborate with customer implementation and support teams on integration documentation and guidance.

• Update the Project Manager on technical progress, findings, effort estimates, dependencies, and risks.

• Participate in discussions with customers or vendors when technical clarification is necessary.

• Utilize approved AI tools to enhance mapping, analysis, validation, and documentation, while ensuring verification of outputs and results.

• Recommend and, when appropriate, prototype interfaces, reports, and utilities for mapping oversight and exception handling.

• Report directly to the VP of Product Management and collaborate closely with the Project Manager and Engineering team.

⛳️ Requirements

• Ability to understand structured data and JSON, including objects, properties, identifiers, relationships, and custom fields, and translate business requirements into precise source-to-target mappings.

• Practical skills in data transformation, formulas, conditional logic, filters, and validation.

• Capacity to learn a mapping interface and autonomously configure and troubleshoot mappings within established practices.

• Working proficiency in SQL and API testing adequate to support data checks and technical diagnostics.

• Comprehension of SaaS integrations, APIs, authentication, and data synchronization.

• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and follow-through across various customer configurations.

• Effective written and verbal communication with both technical and non-technical colleagues, customers, and vendors.

• Ability to accept direction, incorporate feedback, and leverage AI effectively while ensuring validation of results and adherence to company requirements for sensitive data and system access.

• Experience in data conversion, data migration, technical implementation, integration configuration, or a related role involving mapping, transformation, and validation of customer data.

• Background in AMS or CRM implementations is preferred.

• Familiarity with associations or an understanding of their operations, member needs, and software ecosystems is advantageous.

• Experience in maintaining customer-specific configurations and troubleshooting data issues across interconnected software systems.

• SaaS experience is preferred.

• Experience with scripting, software development, or reading code is beneficial.

• Familiarity with AI-assisted tools such as Cursor and Replit is a plus.

• Knowledge of MCP, reusable AI skills, or tools for building internal reports and utilities is helpful.
