This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany, +1 more country.

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable infrastructure for data ingestion, transformation, storage, and delivery.

• Operate streaming processes using Kafka and Avro.

• Coordinate batch workflows utilizing Airflow.

• Ensure Redshift is optimized for performance, well-structured, and cost-efficient.

• Manage secure and reproducible cloud environments for development, testing, and production purposes.

• Take ownership of SLOs, runbooks, and alerts for essential data systems.

• Safeguard sensitive information through access controls, encryption, secrets management, and retention policies.

• Investigate incidents, lead root cause analysis, and implement preventive measures.

• Enhance data discoverability through cataloging, lineage, ownership, and quality testing.

• Create documentation, tools, and self-service workflows for analytics and engineering teams.

• Collaborate with SRE, product, engineering, analytics, and security teams.

• Minimum of 2 years in data platform engineering or scalable software systems.

• Proficient in Kafka and Avro, with experience in schema design, serialization, and evolution.

• Familiarity with Redshift and production Airflow, including data modeling and performance optimization.

• Experience in Cloud and DevOps: CI/CD, infrastructure as code, and Kubernetes.

• Knowledge of data lakes and open table formats.

• Expertise in reliability and security: observability, incident response, and troubleshooting pipeline failures.

• Security-aware approach to data access, privacy, and secrets management.

• Strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Must reside in Germany or Spain.

• Must possess the legal right to work in Germany or Spain.
