Data Governance Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Spain.

📋 Description

• Create, uphold, and version taxonomies, business term definitions, and classification hierarchies within the governance platform.

• Convert approved governance decisions into structured, testable data rules and ensure rule IDs are consistently applied across taxonomies.

• Examine rule libraries to identify duplicates, conflicts, and coverage gaps, and compile findings for governance review.

• Maintain metadata, documentation, and change history to ensure traceable and auditable definitions and rules.

• Assist with the intake and evaluation of new rule and definition requests from Data Operations and business stakeholders.

• Prepare reference data and candidates for golden record governance certification, highlighting any anomalies and exceptions.

• Generate documentation and quick-reference materials for stewards and analysts.

• Support governance reporting, dashboards, and updates for stakeholders.

• Implement governance standards within classification and data quality workflows.

⛳️ Requirements

• 3–5 years of experience in data governance, data management, data quality, analytics, or data operations.

• Practical experience in maintaining taxonomies, controlled vocabularies, business glossaries, or rule libraries.

• Keen attention to detail and a comfort level with structured data, spreadsheets, and governance tools.

• Ability to convert governance decisions into clear, consistent, and testable rules.

• Comfort with ambiguity and the evolving standards present in a developing governance environment.

• Understanding of data quality dimensions: accuracy, completeness, consistency, and timeliness.

• Familiarity with DAMA / DMBOK concepts is advantageous.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
