Data Governance Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Hampshire, +18 more states.

📋 Description

• Administer and provide support for the enterprise Data Catalog in collaboration with the Data Governance team.

• Lead the development of the data catalog roadmap, which encompasses metadata collection, asset onboarding, data classification, business glossary creation, and data lineage documentation.

• Manage and support Databricks Unity Catalog, including data asset registration, metadata management, access governance coordination, and organization of catalogs across various data domains.

• Collaborate with data owners, stewards, and engineering teams to enhance data discoverability, promote governance adoption, and refine data management practices.

• Design, implement, and oversee the Data Stewardship Program in accordance with data catalog implementation and governance goals.

• Act as the principal administrator and business liaison for Osano, overseeing platform enhancements, resolving issues, managing compliance requests, and coordinating with vendors.

• Assist with Master Data Management (MDM) platforms and governance processes, encompassing stewardship workflows, data quality initiatives, and controls for master data.

• Track platform adoption, governance metrics, and usage trends, offering recommendations for process optimization and technological advancements.

• Provide support for data governance projects and strategic initiatives as necessary.

• Create governance documentation, standards, and operational procedures that facilitate scalable data management practices.

• Collaborate with Data Governance, Security, Engineering, Legal, and business stakeholders to support data cataloging, metadata management, MDM, privacy compliance, data quality initiatives, and the execution of governance programs.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 8 years of experience in Data Governance, Data Management, or a related field.

• Practical experience in implementing and managing data catalog platforms, including metadata management and catalog engineering.

• Proven track record of developing and operationalizing a Data Stewardship Program from inception.

• In-depth knowledge of data governance principles, metadata management, data cataloging, data lineage, and best practices in stewardship.

• Experience in supporting or administering Databricks Unity Catalog or similar governance platforms.

• Familiarity with Master Data Management (MDM) solutions and data quality management processes.

• Experience working with privacy, consent, and compliance technologies, such as Osano.

• Strong technical, analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management capabilities.

• Ability to work collaboratively across Data Governance, Security, Engineering, Product, and business teams.

• Knowledge of industry-standard data governance frameworks and governance operating models.

• Experience in measuring and reporting governance adoption, data quality, and operational metrics is preferred.

• Self-motivated individual capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.

• Capability to translate technical concepts into business-friendly language.
