📋 Description

• Lead, expand, and mentor a team of Data Engineers.

• Provide strategic leadership and high-level management for the DBA team.

• Drive essential infrastructure initiatives across both streaming and batch environments utilizing GCP, BigQuery, dbt, and Apache Flink.

• Promote an AI-first engineering culture by integrating AI into pipeline coding, platform operations, and data access layers.

• Collaborate with and support the DBA team to ensure the reliability, uptime, and integration of transactional databases with the analytical platform.

• Establish standards for data quality, testing, observability, and optimization of cloud resource costs.

• Align pipeline development with critical business decisions and product objectives.

• Write code, review pull requests, and directly address complex system challenges.

⛳️ Requirements

• Demonstrated experience in leading data engineering teams with a readiness to write code, review PRs, and directly tackle complex system challenges.

• Strong knowledge of Google Cloud Platform, particularly BigQuery and cloud data processing.

• Practical expertise in using dbt for transformation models and Apache Flink (or Dataflow) for real-time streaming data.

• Active user of modern AI coding assistants and automation workflows.

• Comfortable overseeing relational database teams, such as PostgreSQL/MySQL, without the need for in-depth daily DBA execution.

• High standards for clean architecture, platform governance, and comprehensive documentation.

• Exceptional communication skills.

• Advanced proficiency in English.

• Spanish-speaking ability is a valuable addition.

• Equivalent qualifications in the specified requirements will also be taken into account.
