Data Engineer – Mid-Level

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Provide support to the Naval Research & Development Establishment as part of the Decision Advantage Solutions Hub Integrated Product Team.

• Design, implement, and enhance data systems and pipelines that facilitate AI/ML applications for a Navy IT command.

• Collaborate with AI/ML engineers and technical teams to ensure data processing is both scalable and reliable.

• Assist in the deployment of machine learning solutions, ensuring mission-critical operations, adherence to data quality and security standards, and effective data workflows.

• Evaluate use cases and high-level requirements to establish detailed data solution specifications.

• Work with stakeholders to analyze and refine enterprise metrics and business rules, identifying related data needs and sources.

• Establish and update data architectures/models, data standards, transformations, and integrations.

• Create, publish, refresh, and maintain reference materials for analysts and other users.

• Develop and implement modern software-intensive solutions aimed at providing automation.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in supporting corporate operations through data management and analysis.

• At least 3 years of experience in data management, analysis, and visualization.

• A minimum of 3 years of Business Intelligence experience in designing dashboards, reporting solutions, and integrations using the QLIK Advana reporting suite.

• Proficiency in designing various data visualization techniques and selecting suitable visuals for diverse audiences.

• Experience in project planning, including timeline/milestone recommendations, risk identification, cross-functional collaboration, spreadsheet-based analytical modeling, and stakeholder communication.

• Required technical skills include Python, SQL, data modeling, APIs, and data architecture.

• Familiarity with AI libraries is essential.

• A BS degree in Physical Sciences, Computer Science, Mathematics, Psychology, Business Intelligence, Business Administration or Finance, Statistics, or Management Information Systems is required.
