
Data Engineer – Data Project Lead, Grants Management

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Lead the design and integration of data systems architecture.
• Supervise and manage data-related projects and the supporting team.
• Oversee data initiatives utilizing an iterative, adaptable, and collaborative methodology that incorporates user feedback.
• Design, develop, and maintain grants databases, reporting tools, and process enhancement instruments.
• Create and uphold data pipelines and integrations between HSES, AMS, GrantSolutions, TTA Hub, and contract management tools.
• Build APIs and implement data transformation and automation processes.
• Conduct system testing, lead testing scenarios, and identify, document, and resolve issues.
• Establish data governance models and metadata management systems for data sourced from Excel, Smartsheet, SQL, Power BI, and additional sources.
• Set and monitor progress, as well as measures of successful delivery.
• Track and enhance OHS Smartsheet grant administration workflows and associated tasks.
• Develop tools, automated notifications, and management information reports to facilitate data-driven decision-making.
• Maintain documentation for effective handoff and knowledge transfer.
• Collaborate with the team to ensure the production of high-quality, up-to-date work products.
• Provide supervision, task direction, and support to data personnel.
• Mentor team members and address concerns or issues from team members and clients.
• Participate in weekly contract management and daily stand-up meetings as necessary.
• Contribute to client progress and status reports, which include monthly summaries and weekly registration metrics.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related discipline is required.
• A minimum of 10 years of relevant professional experience directly tied to the job responsibilities.
• At least 3 years of progressive supervisory experience is necessary.
• Advanced expertise in integrating web-based and commercial off-the-shelf data management software, including Smartsheet, SQL, Python, API development, AWS, Azure, Power BI, Microsoft Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Experience in developing, implementing, managing, or enhancing complex, high-profile, multi-faceted data projects.
• Proficiency in database design, ETL processes, and data warehousing.
• Understanding of data governance and security principles.
• Capability to effectively mentor team members.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to address and resolve complaints from team members and clients.
• Must be able to pass background checks required for access to federal facilities and systems.
• This position requires Public Trust clearance.
• At least 1 year of experience in early childhood education and/or Head Start programs is highly preferred.
• Willingness to work 40–60 hours per week, Monday through Friday, with the possibility of work outside regular hours.

• 5–10% local and regional travel.
