Data Engineer – Data Platform

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Design, implement, and enhance scalable data pipelines to guarantee dependable and secure data flows.

• Structure and convert data following contemporary best practices, including versioning, history retention, and thorough documentation.

• Create and manage ETL and ELT processes alongside orchestrated data pipelines.

• Utilize modern cloud technologies, preferably AWS, while aiding in the growth of the data platform.

• Employ Infrastructure as Code, ideally using Pulumi or Terraform, for the dependable and scalable development of the data platform.

• Evaluate and enhance data processes regarding performance, scalability, stability, and data quality.

• Work collaboratively with data scientists, analysts, product teams, and developers.

• Assist in the ongoing development of data-engineering standards and the modernization of the BI and data landscape.

⛳️ Requirements

• Several years of practical experience in data engineering, preferably within production cloud data platform environments.

• Proficient in SQL and Python.

• Familiarity with modern data-stack technologies such as Snowflake, dbt, Prefect or Airflow, BigQuery, or similar tools.

• Experience with ETL/ELT processes, data modeling, and constructing robust data pipelines.

• Familiarity with AWS or a similar cloud platform.

• Initial experience with Infrastructure as Code, preferably with Pulumi or Terraform.

• Strong analytical skills and the ability to clearly articulate complex technical topics.

• Independent, organized, and solution-focused work approach.

• Willingness to embrace agile methodologies, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

• Proficiency in the German language at least at B2 level and strong English skills.

• Residence in Germany is a requirement.
