Data Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States, +1 more country.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of the data engineering layer, encompassing pipelines, data models, and the analytics warehouse.

• Develop and sustain ETL and real-time pipelines that integrate PIMS data into Nest's systems.

• Create integrations with third-party APIs.

• Design data models for hospital analytics, internal reporting, and financial purposes.

• Collaborate with the Director of Finance to ensure Sigma becomes a dependable self-service tool across the organization.

• Set standards for testing, documentation, and monitoring data quality.

• Diagnose production data challenges and address root causes.

• Develop reusable patterns for future integrations.

• Work alongside a fully remote engineering team focused on building veterinary care-plan infrastructure.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 3 years of professional experience in data engineering.

• Proficiency in Python and SQL, including tools such as dbt and Pandas or Polars.

• Experience in building and managing real-time pipelines in a production environment.

• Capability to work independently and articulate technical trade-offs to non-engineering stakeholders.

• Preferred: Familiarity with Google Cloud, specifically Dataflow, Spanner, and BigQuery.

• Preferred: Experience in integration with PIMS, EHR, or other healthcare systems.

• Preferred: Experience with Sigma or another contemporary BI platform.

• Preferred: Working knowledge of Java.

• Preferred: Experience as an early or inaugural data hire.
