Data Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kazakhstan, +1 more country.

📋 Description

• Design and sustain dependable, scalable data models, transformations, and pipelines utilizing BigQuery and dbt.

• Combine data from various sources including databases, APIs, file feeds, and external providers.

• Convert reporting requirements into precise, thoroughly tested, and well-documented datasets.

• Establish validation processes, checks, and monitoring systems to detect data issues proactively.

• Guarantee that daily data is accurately delivered and adheres to the scheduled timeline.

• Propel development efforts within the GCP, dbt, and Power BI ecosystem.

• Directly report to the Head of Data Warehouse.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive proficiency in SQL with the ability to write and debug complex queries and comprehend the underlying data.

• Significant experience in a production environment working with ELT pipelines, data integration, and data modeling.

• Profound understanding of data quality assurance principles and data warehouse architecture.

• Dependability and autonomy in addressing data-related challenges and completing tasks.

• Experience in designing and creating data models using dbt (preferred).

• Proficiency in Python for data movement and integration across GCP services (preferred).

• Practical knowledge in querying and operating within BigQuery or a similar cloud warehouse (preferred).

• Strong understanding of star-schema design and semantic modeling for Power BI (preferred).

• Familiarity with version control and CI/CD workflows; experience with GitLab is a plus (preferred).

• Background in brokerage, banking, asset management, payments, or fintech data (preferred).
