This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Romania.

📋 Description

• Develop new features for the Cloud Data Platform utilizing SQL, Python, and dbt.

• Engage in regular evaluations of Cloud Data Platform components and assist in enhancement initiatives.

• Take part in data modeling efforts to create efficient data structures for analysis and reporting purposes.

• Assess the work of fellow Data Engineers to ensure alignment with data warehouse integration, data modeling, and business requirements.

• Utilize Git and version control for collaborative code development and manage data engineering artifacts.

• Work closely with data analysts and data scientists to comprehend requirements and facilitate analysis and reporting.

• Detect and rectify data-related issues and discrepancies.

• Construct and enhance scalable, reliable, and well-structured data solutions and pipelines.

• Support analytics, product features, and client-facing functionalities while enhancing platform quality and performance.

• Report directly to the Senior Data Engineer (Team Lead).


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Statistics, Mathematics, or Management Information Systems.

• Proficient in advanced SQL database querying and scripting.

• Strong expertise in a scripting language, preferably Python.

• Demonstrated knowledge of object-oriented programming and design patterns.

• Experience with version control systems like Git.

• Background in data engineering, data integration, or business intelligence teams at product companies developing data-driven software solutions.

• Solid understanding of data warehousing methodologies including Kimball, Inmon, and Data Vault 2.0.

• Familiarity with data modeling practices such as relational, entity-relationship, object-oriented, flat, and query-first models.

• Good understanding of data engineering design patterns encompassing raw loads, replication, batch ETL, streaming ETL, ELT, stream processing, data virtualization, and change data capture.

• Knowledge of declarative and imperative database deployment patterns.

• Proven experience with tools such as Terraform, Flyway, Schema Change, Liquibase, or similar.

• Strong analytical capabilities in collecting, organizing, and interpreting large volumes of data.

• In-depth understanding of a typical Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).

• Self-motivated individual capable of working independently as well as collaboratively with diverse groups and teams.

• Ability to function in cross-functional teams.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Experience with onsite/offshore working models.

• Familiarity with Snowflake, dbt/SQLMesh/Dataform, Dagster/Prefect/Airflow, Docker, Azure Container Apps/Azure App Functions, Azure Event Hubs, or Power BI Semantic Models is advantageous.
