Data Collection Technician – Distribution Field Services

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.

📋 Description

• Conduct comprehensive assessments with precision based on field conditions.

• Accurately record data using established standards to ensure clarity for project personnel in the office.

• Collaborate with the team to maintain consistency and accuracy in data collection methods.

• Utilize smartphones and/or tablets to gather and document pertinent data.

• Navigate assigned territories and client sites using GPS software and/or geospatial coordinates.

• Identify items for documentation in the field with minimal supervision.

• Achieve production targets while understanding project deliverables and milestones.

• Adhere to safety protocols and engage in safety initiatives.

• Assist in power restoration efforts during natural disasters.

• Travel overnight as required on occasion.

• Perform daily inspections of travel and utility distribution equipment in the field.

• Conduct visual analyses, capture photographs, and enter data into mobile devices for field data collection projects.

⛳️ Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical or vocational training is advantageous.

• Exceptional attention to detail with the capability to carry out visual assessments proficiently.

• Skilled in using smartphones and tablets for data entry and communication purposes.

• Strong communication abilities and the capacity to work independently with minimal supervision.

• Willingness to travel frequently to various work sites within the client's service area, often on short notice.

• Adaptability to new site inspections and outdoor environments, including diverse weather conditions and terrains.

• Willingness to travel overnight as necessary.

• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

• Strong navigational skills and proficient map reading abilities.

• Familiarity with basic computer software and Microsoft Office Suite applications.

• Maintain a clean and professional appearance during client interactions.

• Effective time management skills.

• Meet company standards for pre-employment background checks and drug screenings.

• Uphold the highest standards of ethics and integrity.

• Commitment to adhering to safety protocols and guidelines.

• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and terrains for extended periods.

• Frequent travel required, up to 100%, to utility sites, customer locations, and project areas.

• Capability to walk long distances, climb stairs, navigate uneven ground, and access active construction or utility work sites.

• Ability to lift and carry equipment, tools, and materials weighing up to 25–50 pounds.

• Competence to safely perform duties while equipped with the necessary personal protective equipment (PPE).
