This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Nevada.
• Install, relocate, and decommission hardware such as cabinets, shelves, power strips, rails, fiber/copper/other cables, cable management systems, servers, storage devices, and other equipment within the Data Center.
• Verify and label all devices, racks, and cables accurately.
• Utilize a standard ticketing system to ensure clear, timely, and appropriate communication with customers.
• Adhere to the guidance provided by the Site Operations Supervisor and/or Operations Manager.
• Comply with Standard Operating Procedures, Program Policies, Safety Policies, and Security Policies while achieving quality and quantity targets.
• Conduct data center maintenance, including asset tagging, scanning, cabling, and documenting processes and server installations.
• Offer recommendations for solutions and take responsibility for outcomes.
• Provide mentorship to less experienced team members when necessary.
• Execute additional assigned tasks as required.
• High school diploma or GED along with 5 to 8 years of relevant experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Capability to respond to any On-Call request within one hour while on-call.
• Experience in cabling systems (power/copper/fiber/other) in accordance with ticket specifications and SOP standards.
• Familiarity with CAT5e and CAT6 copper cables, as well as multi-mode and single-mode fiber.
• Proven adaptability to changing priorities, conditions, and circumstances.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Basic knowledge of computer hardware.
• Understanding of networking components and infrastructure.
• Familiarity with copper and fiber testing equipment.
• Excellent troubleshooting capabilities.
• Knowledge of Data Center best practices, including basic fault tolerance, cable routing, and calculating power usage.
• Experience in cable management and knowledge of running fiber and copper within a data center.
• Understanding of Data Center electrical, HVAC, and bandwidth infrastructures, along with fiber/copper topologies.
• Ability to operate material handling equipment such as server lifts, pallet jacks, and forklifts (if certified).
• Proficiency in using standard desktop PC tools and applications, including MS Office, MS Outlook, web browsers, etc.
• Willingness to learn new software applications.
• Must provide personal transportation to work locations.
• Capable of safely lifting and moving a minimum of fifty (50) pounds.
• Certifications in Data Center technologies are preferred.
• Hands-on experience in electrical, HVAC, and data center infrastructures is essential.
• Must possess the ability to perform office-related tasks, which may involve prolonged periods of sitting or standing.
• Must be able to move around within an office environment.
• Must be proficient in using a computer.
• Must have the ability to communicate effectively.
